Hello dear friends, it has been a while since we had coffee together. I have missed having this special little time with you when we can just relax and unwind while talking over a cup of coffee or maybe tea for you. How have you been? How is life treating you these days? Oh, I so wish you were really here. So much to tell you.
If we were having coffee I would tell you that life is pretty grand. That's it. I am enjoying life to the max and I am glad I have been intentional about not letting people of situations bring me down.
If we were having coffee I would tell you that I am excited the official photos from the Go Girl Run in Kansas City are coming in. I happened to see this one online. I guess one of the advantages of being 6'1" is that you stand out in a sea of people...well at least half of me! lol. For those of you new here, I love running but I do not race. This was only me second race ever and this is my first ever official race pic of any kind!

If we were having coffee I would tell you that after many issues my Army paperwork has come through and I am out of active army in June 2015. Yes, I will go into the national guard but I also get to be with my new little family, so come spring it is going to be insanity moving and finishing planning this wedding. :)
If we were having coffee I would tell you I wish I could invite to my wedding all the beautiful friends I have made through blogging-- yourself included. Many of you I have known through blogging for years and are very special to me.
If we were having coffee I would tell you that no September that I can remember has been more fall-like than this one that just passed and I am already loving October! With my new "explore more of Kansas City mode, I have discovered so many cool places. Last month I discovered this new restaurance called The Farmhouse and it has become my go-to on Saturdays for brunch. The Farmhouse serves local and seasonal food and this you see here is the Harvest Corned Beef Hash... I was full for the rest of the day and it was insanely good.

And right next door is neighborhood coffee house, Quay Coffee. This trendy coffeehouse is not for the faint of heart. Yes they do lattes and all but this is a place for those who love black coffee and enjoy the nuances of different roasts and blends. So good.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I am missing one of my fall staples: muscadine and scuppernog grapes. These are my favorite grapes in the whole wide world. They are big and plump and with a very distinct flavor. I can do some serious damage to a bowl full of grapes. And luckily not many in my family like them.
These babies are so good. But I have a good momma, and she has two bags frozen and waiting for me in NC. When I go home in November IT IS ON!
If we were having coffee I would tell you that I am so happy all my favorite shows are back! On Tuesdays is Agents of Shield (OMG!!!! I am a self-professed comic books nerd and love this show). On Thursdays is Grey's Anatomy (sans my person, Cristina... sniff, sniff). May I say that I despise Maggie Pierce (Meredith's new sister...ugh). Then on Sunday is the Revenge (my favorite show) which started really good! For some reason I always feel like I need a stiff drink after an encounter between Emily Thorne and Victoria Grayson.
If we were having coffee I would tell you that I wish we had more time and more coffee get-togethers! It is always such fun to talk to you. Tell me-- if you were here what would you talk about?
I am so tired of sisters popping out of no where in Grey's... I LOVE LOVE LOVE Revenge!! Cant wait to see what happens this season.
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't I realize you were 6'1?
I would tell you I would totally come to your wedding too :) I can't wait to see it all come together here in blog world :)
Haha! Yeap, been 6'1" since I was 14. So you can imagine all the jokes I heard in school.
DeleteCongratulations on completing your 5K and getting your paperwork completed MA! Such extraordinary accomplishments. I love your Explore Kansas mission... the Farmhouse and coffee shop look so cozy. Motivates me to do the same in Paris ;)
ReplyDeleteCatherine, I expect plenty of your glorious photos when you do! :)
DeleteIt sounds like such an amazing, happy time–horray!
ReplyDeletePS–I totally feel the same way about all the wonderful blogging friends I wish I could invite!
