Happy Monday, everyone! It is another week and I am already thinking: is it Friday yet? Seriously, with this gorgeous weather we have been having, the last thing I want to do is be inside an office. But such is the life of an adult. But the weekend was fantastic starting with the awesome game between Alabama and the Florida Gators. Now, some of you are not into football and I get it, so you'll have to hear about it from time to time.
So first, the BamavsFlorida game. Y'all know I'm a Crimson Tide fan and stick with them through thick and thin. Last year they struggled which for some reason makes them an underdog this year. The first half I was a bit worried-- I'm not even gonna lie. But during the second half they came back like the champion caliber team they are to win 42-21. Roll Tide!
Now bear with me because it was a crazy weekend for college football, the craziest being Saturday night during the game between Clemson and the Florida Seminoles. The Seminole's quarterback was suspended from this game because of some nasty comments he made. He won the Heisman Trophy last year after a scandal and he is letting it go to his head. So what does he do? He shows up for the game in FULL UNIFORM. Yeah, you don't do that. I think the world is convinced after last night that he is not completely there. This was me... and the rest of the world when he came into the field Saturday night:
Personally, all I ask is that someone checks his grades because with the crazy stuff that comes out of his mouth and how he behaved last night, there is no way-- NO WAY-- that he is passing his classes at FSU. Anyhow-- yes, Saturday was a day of football for me. And I deserved it after the crazy workout on Saturday. All I'm going to say is that it involved tires.
On Sunday, weather was gorgeous again which was perfect for the workout that sucks the life out of me: mile repeats. This oldie but goodie workout is something I have been concentrating on because a 2 mile run is part of the APFT and I want to annihilate that run at the end of October.
The workout was awesome and I was super happy (and tired) because I managed to run the miles between 8:40 and 8:33 mins x mile. And 8:33 was the best I have done so far. I could tell that I was pushing past that comfortable threshold but you know what? It didn't kill me. In two weeks I'll be pushing out of this comfort zone again to try a make it a little faster and sustain it for two miles. Some of you are already rockstars but to me, two miles at that speed is not something I have done in about 2 years. So I'm pretty stocked about this, even if my lungs feel like they are on fire! lol.
Sunday afternoon, and after walking Mr. Jack around the park, I went to Weston, MO. I love this little quaint town. But I went there with a purpose in mind: to get some Irish grub. Man, I have been craving some good Irish food and the Weston Brewing Co. knows just how to make some good food. A flight of beer later (hello, hard ginger beer I am in love!) and some bangers & mash, I was satisfied and ready for a walk around this lovely town.
I walked around town and leisurely browsed through antique stores and some other cool ones with a vintagie vibe. At one of the I found Jill & Jane, the cows above. I saw this glicee print and fell in love with it and I think it will be perfect for our house when we build it. David always laughs at the fact that I love cows. Not in a "I have all kinds of cow decorations around my house" but as in a "I think they are beautiful animals" way. :-) Until we get married, Jill & Jane will be hanging in my bedroom keeping me company. I love these girls!!!
After this little trip, I went back home, watched some Hallmark movies, while catching up on my magazines and then got ready for the week ahead. It truly went by too fast and I am ready for next weekend already. How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun?
You're hard core flipping tires lady! You do it all!
ReplyDelete1. LOL at that the Seminole's QB...I hadn't heard about that yet! Someone needs to check his grades for sure!
ReplyDelete2. A hard ginger beer sounds so good...I love ginger beer in general!
3. Totally agree that weekends go by way too fast!
Wow, sounds like you're killing it with the workouts. To me, that tire looks nearly impossible to move. Glad you had a nice weekend filled with things you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun weekend and killer workout! This weekend my hubby got back from a week long trip so we had fun hanging out together :) Thanks for sharing! #wowlinkup
ReplyDeleteSince I went to college in Tallahassee and had to hear the bally-hoo from the FSU stadium, I am not a Seminoles fan. The way they treat their football players, not surprised ol' boy showed up in full uniform. They are pampered. LOL. Last week was pretty wasn't it? #wowlinkup
